The mastermind behind the strategy of exterminating the Jewish people

The mastermind behind the strategy of exterminating the Jewish people was Hitler but he hardly made direct orders of the exterminations. Further, he had never been to the death camps. Such conscious detachment of direct participation also played a major role in the atrocious way the Nazis committed the genocide

The senior commanders were forced to interpret the intent of Hitler since there was no signed document like You must start the killings now. They were rivalrous in being the most brutal and extremist in their thinking which they labeled as working towards the Führer. As a result, they were constantly finding quicker and more violent means, hastening the process of the simple shootings by a mass one into the methodical use of gas chambers.

The mass killing was done beyond the perimeters of the legal or policy, and was conducted in complete secrecy. Those secrets gave the camp officials above-board powers and they could make and execute inhumane decisions without interference by any outside force.

The fact that Hitler was physically detached to the activities did not hinder the genocide instead, it gave ardour, productivity, and discretion to his followers in their hideous task.
